Blogspot is a domain service from Google that allows hosting of blogs through their Blogger platform. There are several templates you can use with Blogspot, all of which allow for you to have a header at the top. Right below the header is a navigation bar that holds the categories. This category navigation bar assists customers in finding the information that they want easily in your blog. Categories make for a user-friendly experience and will help draw traffic to your site.
Instructions
- 1Log in to your Blogspot site and go through your existing blog posts. Make sure they have tags. Add tags to those that don't. The names of these tags will become the names of the categories on the top of your navigation bar.
- 2Click on your dashboard and see if there are any updates available. If there are, click on the updates and allow them to be downloaded and installed. You must be in the updated Blogger interface for this to work.
- 3Right click on one of the tags below a blog post. Copy the URL address for that tag.
- 4Go to your dashboard and select the blog you want to add categories to. If you only have one blog, that blog will automatically be selected for you.
- 5Select "Pages" from the dashboard menu.
- 6Click on the "New Page" drop-down menu and select "Web Address."
- 7Paste the label URL into the blank field and click on "Save Arrangement." That label URL will now become a category button below the header on the front page of your blog.
